About Me

A Journey of Resilience, Innovation, Leadership and Gratitude​

​

I was born and brought up in Mysore, Karnataka, India, in a lower-middle-class family where values, discipline, humility and perseverance shaped the foundation of my life. My early years were simple, challenging and deeply meaningful. They taught me that success is not defined by circumstances, but by the courage to keep moving forward despite them.

​

My primary school years were spent at Christ the King Convent, Mysore, where I was active in academics as well as sports. I played kho-kho, kabaddi, cricket and athletics, and I was fortunate to excel in both academics and extracurricular activities. It was also during these formative years that I discovered my unique skill for drum mimicry, a passion that stayed with me and became an important part of my creative expression.

I later studied at Marimallappa High School and Pre-University College, Mysore, where cricket became one of my biggest dreams and strongest pursuits. I had the privilege of meeting Javagal Srinath, who was senior to me and later became one of India’s finest fast bowlers. During this period, I served as school captain for cricket and athletics, while continuing to maintain strong academic performance. Like many young dreamers, I wanted to become both a cricketer and a doctor. Life, however, had a different path for me, and I was destined to become an engineer.

The early days of my life were not easy. My father retired when I was in the 9th standard, and our family went through extremely difficult times. There were days when even affording one proper meal was a challenge. Yet, I never gave up. I continued to focus on my goals, and through determination and merit, I completed my education. My father instilled in me the importance of family ethics, values, discipline, responsibility and integrity — principles that continue to guide me every day.

Throughout my journey, I was blessed with the unconditional love and support of my father, mother and grandparents. Their strength, sacrifices and affection gave me the courage to dream, to work hard and to remain grounded.

​

In 1992, I lost my father — one of the most difficult and defining moments of my life. His passing brought immense emotional and personal responsibility, and from then on, I continued to support and care for my mother, sister and nephew. In 1996, I married my wife, Anu, who has been thoughtful, caring and supportive throughout our journey together. I am blessed with two wonderful children — my son, Ranjan, and my daughter, Ranjini — who continue to bring happiness, inspiration and motivation into my life.

My mother, my beloved Amma, passed away on December 6, 2025, a loss that had a deep impact on me. She was my pillar of strength, encouragement and motivation. She taught me the importance of kindness, compassion and helping others. Her love continues to live within me, and I miss her deeply.

Professional Journey​

​

Today, I serve as Head of Innovation Centers, Center of Excellence, AI Chief Architect and Technologist, Cloud Engineering — Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Japan and Asia Pacific at Oracle, supporting regions including Singapore, Japan, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, China, Korea, Australia and New Zealand. I bring 34 years of experience in Software Research and Development, with deep expertise across Oracle Cloud, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, IoT, Blockchain, Data Mesh, Hybrid Cloud, Infrastructure and Security. One of my flagship innovations is MESHMerize.ai, an Oracle Cloud Accelerator Platform designed as a comprehensive fabric for asset, data, knowledge, AI, regulatory, compliance, configurator and orchestrator capabilities. The platform supports both unstructured and structured data, including PDFs, documents, CSV and Excel files, ZIP archives, PST files, text, video, images and enterprise data sources.

​

MESHMerize.ai brings together capabilities such as data ingestion and management, Generative AI, semantic search, RAG and advanced RAG frameworks, LangChain, DSPy, OCI Generative AI, REACT, Chain-of-Thought reasoning patterns, RAGAS-based evaluation, local LLM support, agentic workflows, vector databases, ontology-driven knowledge graphs, chat-enabled knowledge systems, MCP and agentic frameworks, policy management, auditing, analytics, AI chatbot capabilities, application integrations, AI workspace management and multilingual support, including international and regional Indian languages. This accelerator has applicability across several industries and sectors, including automobiles, government domains, transportation systems, energy, banking, media and healthcare.

I am also leading the engineering design and development of Ally, a unified OCI AI Assistant designed to automate and scale the OCI adoption lifecycle — from enablement, readiness, incubation and design to development, implementation, operations and governance.

I was also recognized as a Gold Winner in the Oracle AI Competition for “Mirai – AI Conversation for Industries,” an AI prototype selected from 400+ submissions and evaluated at the Executive Vice President level. Mirai means “The Future” in Japanese, reflecting the vision of building AI-powered industry conversation experiences that can be productized and scaled. Before my current role, I served at Oracle as Senior Director, Database Engineering R&D, and as Chief Architect, India Development Center R&D.

Prior to Oracle, I held several senior executive leadership roles at CA Technologies, now Broadcom, NetApp, Dell Technologies and OpenText.

​

Across my career, I have led the development, strategy, integration, transformation and operation of multiple cloud-based products and platforms. I have conceptualized novel designs, contributed to granted patents and led teams in building solutions that transformed legacy technologies into modern cloud-ready platforms. These initiatives helped enterprises strengthen their end-to-end capabilities, modernize infrastructure, expand business scope and improve market positioning.

Education, Patents and Standards Contributions​

​

I completed the Executive Leadership Program from Yale University, USA. I hold an MS in Computer Science and Engineering and an MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix, USA. I earned my BE in Computer Science from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore, India.

​

I have been granted 10 U.S. patents and 2 Indian patents, with 11 additional patents pending.

​

I have also authored and contributed to several W3C Web Services Access Protocols, including:

WS-Eventing, WS-SOAPAssertions, WS-Enumeration, WS-EventDescriptions, WS-Fragment, WS-MetadataExchange and WS-Transfer.

​

In addition, I serve as an Advisory Board Member for Information Management Technology at Hyderabad University, India, nominated by Oracle. I have also been a working group member for India AI 2023, under the IT Ministry of India, and was appointed by Oracle as the Nodal Officer for the National eGovernance Division for Responsible AI Youth India.

​

Beyond Work​

​

Beyond technology and leadership, I am a volunteer, state-level cricketer, mentor, advisor and musician. Cricket, music and mentoring have always been close to my heart. They have helped me stay connected to discipline, teamwork, creativity and human relationships.

​

I have always believed in working as a team member first and a leader next. My goal has been to take on challenging responsibilities, build strong teams, nurture leadership, and deliver meaningful outcomes through collaboration, trust and execution excellence.

​

Gratitude

​

No journey is built alone. I am deeply grateful to my friends, colleagues, relatives, mentors and well-wishers who have supported me through every phase of my life.

​

My friends have been an integral part of my journey — from school and college to every workplace I have been part of. I extend special thanks to Vinay, Hyavadan, Srikanth Chetty, Arun, Giri, Rajeev, Ramachandran, Pradeep Daniel, Koustubh and Srinivas.

My best friend and brother, Abraham Mathew, has continuously stood by me and wished the best for me in every phase of life. I also remember Late M. C. Abraham as an inspirational leader. My heartfelt thanks to Daniel Uncle and his family for their support during my period of grief.

I am grateful to Dale Gutt in the USA for his care and understanding. I also thank my in-laws, sisters-in-law, co-brothers, sisters and nephew for their continued support.

​

I also remember with deep affection my pet parrot, Midori, who showered me with unconditional love. Though she is no longer with us, she will always remain in my heart.

​

I cherish my working team members, who have always felt like family. I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment spent working, building and growing with them.

​

I remain especially thankful to my doctor friends who saved my life during Covid in April 2021 — Dr. Mohan, Dr. Lakshmikanth, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Murali, Dr. Kiran Kinger and Dr. Krupa Johar.

​

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work with supportive managers and leaders who guided, trusted and encouraged me. My special thanks to Praveen Parthivadi, Giri Krishna, Robert Levy, Jacob Lamm, John Swainson, Dr. Donald Ferguson, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, John Kane, Russell Artz, Simon Zarin, Tom Burns, Nnamdi, Bharath and Mohan.

I also extend my sincere thanks to Mysore City Gymkhana Cricket Club, Mysore, and to Javagal Srinath, Raghu, Subbu and Dinakar for being part of my cricketing journey.

Closing Reflection

​

My life has been shaped by resilience, family values, education, sports, technology, innovation, leadership and gratitude. From the challenging days of Mysore to leading innovation across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in Japan and Asia Pacific, every step of my journey has taught me humility, courage and responsibility.

​

I remain deeply thankful to my parents, family, teachers, mentors, friends, colleagues and teams who made this journey possible.

I continue to believe that the purpose of success is not only to achieve, but also to uplift, mentor, inspire and help others. That is the value my parents gave me, and that is the legacy I hope to continue.
